Local Projects:

The Gaian Mind began in 2005 as a d-i-y co-op house/community enter/distro/art gallery/free school/venue in Long Beach, California. We lost our space after about a year and in fall of 2006 we relocated to a smaller music/art studio space.  

We have regular gardening, self defense, and other environmental education projects at various locations.

We’re working to build cultural-ecological infrastructure that integrates knowledge and experience spanning the globe.

To facilitate the exchange of information and ideas in a decentralized, freely accessible and contributable environment, we’ve created an online community with educational and project focused features that most popular social networking websites lack.

We’ve created an online distro site where we offer not only eco-arts
and crafts made by local collective members, we also integrate various
distros from around the world.

Our goal is to support d-i-y and eco-artisan economies, establish trade networks, and create a context for cultural exchange via e-commerce.
